Natchez is the westernmost city in Mississippi, standing some 200 feet above
the Mississippi River - the highest promontory north of the Gulf of Mexico.

Climate
Natchez certainly has its seasons, but winter is generally very mild.
Our normal lows fall to around 40 degrees Fahrenheit, with an average of 21 days
with lows below 32 degrees F. Average winter highs are in the 50's.
Spring and fall are generally pleasant and mild, with average highs in the 70's.
Summer can be hot and humid with average highs in the 90's with 90% humidity.
Our weather patterns are heavily influenced by the Gulf of Mexico and prevailing southerly winds.

Adams County Supervisors are elected from five districts.
Natchez has a full-time elected Mayor, with Aldermen elected from six
wards.
All Mississippi residents and businesses pay state income tax. Income
from federal, state and private retirement systems is exempt.
